The Great Blizzard of 2009

It snowed about 3 inches today in North Carolina. That's the most we've seen since we moved here three years ago.

The dogs absolutely loved it, as you can tell by the pics.

Unfortunately I didn't get the day off, since I work from home:(. I guess I can't take the day off on account of bad roads.

Our Christmas Vacation

We were in Hilton Head, SC for Christmas with Julie's side of the family. It was great to see all of them, and it was also great to relax in some warm weather and sunny skies. Julie got me the coolest toy ever, an iPod touch, which is the coolest toy ever because of its coolness and also how cool it is. So cool. Dewey also came down with us and stayed in a kennel at night. We made sure we got lots of beach time with him during the day though, as you can see.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Oh yeah, we went to Jordan too!

Someone mentioned to me that I forgot to post about Jordan, which was the 3rd leg of our trip.

Jordan is a beautiful country with lots of desert and not much else that I'm aware of. Oh, lots of winding mountain roads too.

In Jordan we saw Petra (the city carved out of the sides of mountains), Jerash (an old Roman city that is very well preserved), and the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea is so salty that you can actually see the dissolved salt in the water. Make sure you do not get any of that water in your mouth. It tastes saltier than salt, if that is possible, and you'll definitely want to cry a little.
